The abstract landscape is something I've returned to lately and am always fascinated by. The movement of water, both in the environment and on my canvas is an example. Moving the piece as I'm working on it is a lot of fun, and these square compositions give lots of options.

This painting, and a few others in the series, are cut from hollow wooden doors. The raw edge is filled in, but little is done to disguise its recycled roots. I like the passage concept extending from the subject into the use of a recycled products to replace stretchers, canvas and framing. White painted edge, wired hanger on back with rubber bumpers - ready to hang.

All canvas used is heavy cotton duck canvas, stretched in-studio onto wood stretchers. The gesso used is of high quality, and each painting receives a minimum of three coats to ensure a stable painting surface. Masonite and MDF board are used for panels, and are sealed with the same care as canvases. Archival materials are used throughout the process. Found object works contain a variety of media. In all cases, I've used a two-part resin to seal objects and protect the surface. All work made to last for decades to come.
