Troy

$95.00

A variety of found objects, beads, metal, glass and sometimes flakes of dried paint from my palette are arranged in a box frame I make from scrap wood. I've painted the background to resemble a school photo backdrop. Once all pieces are in place, I pour a clear resin over the entire thing. Objects are adhered to the surface, and the finished piece has a glossy protective surface. Troy is the warrior - even at 8 years old. Most objects are weapons, and most situations are battles. Just ask Mom. Troy holds as his sward the #1, and a metal spiral as a shield.

Used here: broken jewelry, metal hardware, fabric, broken bike reflector, part of a fishing lure metal tin and that apartment door #1 held up in defiance. The box holding objects & resin is just under 6" square. Overall size depends on the size of frame I choose to accompany each piece. Two frame shop samples are used for each. I love how a difference in the size of these two samples makes it look like a drop shadow. The diagonal pull adds to the off-kilter feel of these quirky little portraits.

Verified Archival Materials Used

The Art Storefronts Organization has verified that this Art Seller has published information about the archival materials used to create their products in an effort to provide transparency to buyers.

Description from Merchant:

All canvas used is heavy cotton duck canvas, stretched in-studio onto wood stretchers. The gesso used is of high quality, and each painting receives a minimum of three coats to ensure a stable painting surface. Masonite and MDF board are used for panels, and are sealed with the same care as canvases. Archival materials are used throughout the process. Found object works contain a variety of media. In all cases, I've used a two-part resin to seal objects and protect the surface. All work made to last for decades to come.
